Updating company particulars in Singapore

Upon company registration, keeping the company’s particulars updated is important since such information can be used for tax assessment purposes, as well as for Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) to communicate with the company.

Change of Company Name and Registered Address

Companies are required to file with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) should there be any change in company name and/or registered office address. It is not necessary to inform or update IRAS separately of the change. Based on the information filed with ACRA, IRAS will update its records on a weekly basis.

Correspondence Address

The law demands that IRAS and ACRA send forms and notices to company’s registered address. If you wish to receive forms and notices at a correspondence address other than the current registered address, you have to update the correspondence address as the company’s registered address with ACRA.

Updating IRAS Directly for Urgent Matters

However, your company will need to set up its CorpPass Admin account before your tax agent is able to access IRAS’ e-Services on your behalf from 1 Sep 2018.
