With more than 850 expert speakers and 450 fintech exhibitors, the Singapore FinTech Festival kicks off

fintech-singapore-kick-offSingapore, 31 October 2022, The Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF), now in its seventh year, will be held in person from 31 October to 4 November. Building Resilient Business Models Amid Volatility and Change is the theme of SFF 2022, organized by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and Elevandi [1].

The Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) has implemented new requirements to bolster Singapore’s corporate governance regime, and reiterate Singapore’s dedication to combating money laundering, terrorism financing, and other threats to the integrity of the global financial system. The following requirements will go into effect from 4 October 2022 of signing, after Parliament passed the Corporate Registers (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act on 10 January 2022.

  1. Over 850 experienced speakers and over 250 hours of programming will be included at SFF 2022’s week-long conference. More than 2,000 organizations and more than 110 countries are anticipated to send representatives to the Festival. Twenty-five international pavilions will be distributed among the show hall’s 450 exhibitors.
  2. The invitation-only event On 1 November, policymakers and investors will come together for the Capital Meets Policy Dialogue to discuss the latest financial services advancements, share opinions on new dangers, and explore FinTech regulation.
  3. Twenty-six organizations will participate in the Innovation Lab Crawl, which will take place on 31 October and 1 November. These organizations include the Asia FinTech Center, Capgemini, NEC Laboratories, BNY Mellon, DBS, and HSBC. These organizations, dispersed throughout Singapore, will present the most recent FinTech developments in insurance, decentralized investing, and alternative investments.
  4. More than 400 sessions with government officials, policymakers, creators of new technologies, economists, business executives, and FinTech entrepreneurs will be held during the Conference portion of the SFF, which will take place from 2 November to 4 November. On 2 November, Mr. Lawrence Wong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance will inaugurate the conference. Important international speakers include:

  • Brian Armstrong is the co-founder and CEO of Coinbase.
  • Ms Angel Zhao, President of the Ant Group’s International Business
  • The president and CEO of GCash are Ms Martha Sazon.
  • Prudential Plc’s Chief Executive Officer is Mark FitzPatrick.
  • Principal of Stuart Haber Crypto, LLC and Dr Stuart Haber
  • John Tanagho, Executive Director of the International Justice Mission’s Center to End Child Online Sexual Exploitation
  • Founder of the Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Sonam Wangchuk
  • Nobel Peace Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi is the founder of the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation.

5. The first Elevandi Insights Forum, which will bring together experts from organizations like the International Monetary Fund, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, the Bank for International Settlements Innovation Hub, the Milken Institute, and the Institute of International Finance, will be a highlight of the Conference segment. The forum will feature in-depth roundtable discussions on cross-border payments, available finance, Web3, and international trade. The participants will, after that, continue through lighthouse initiatives and industry whitepapers.

6. With over 450 organizations, including international financial institutions, regulators, and FinTechs, showcasing the most recent advancements and ideas in the FinTech sector, SFF 2022 will mark the return of a physical Exhibition. An ESG FinTech Zone, created in collaboration with the Green FinTech Office of MAS, will be featured in the Exhibition for the first time. It will host ESG FinTechs, financial organizations, and participants from the real economy to exhibit solutions that address essential ESG data and transparency concerns businesses face.

    7. A significant emphasis of SFF 2022 will be on knowledge and skill development. After completing a three-day Learning Journey that allows them to participate in a range of activities at SFF, attendees will be able to obtain their Sustainability and Digital Assets & Web3 badges. For the Festival’s three days, attendees can also take advantage of networking and mentoring opportunities and Lunch & Learn seminars with leading figures in the business. The Talent Pavilion, which hosts employment fairs, expert presentations, and training courses, is designed especially for visitors and students who want to learn more about careers or upgrade their skills in FinTech.

    8. The sector is on the verge of transitioning into three areas: Web3, digital assets, and an ESG-focused economy, according to Sopnendu Mohanty, Chief FinTech Officer of MAS and Chairman of Elevandi Board. By emphasizing discovering answers to today’s problems and moving decisively toward implementation across the financial sector, we have created SFF to reflect this transformation in an open, engaging, and aggressive manner. As a result, the focus of SFF’s material has changed to the impact makers who will motivate the neighbourhood to band together and bring about significant change.

    9. There is no substitute for the actual event experience in maximizing the impact of alliances, according to Constellar Group CEO Jean-François Quentin. The vast international makeup of both new and returning exhibitors reveals a desire among the SFF community to get up in person once more after a two-year break.
